Immediacy:

Fortunate are seekers who discover Ramana, so to speak, when they are at the peak of their spiritual desperation. Mr. Paul Brunton, Sri Ganapathy Muni, Mr. George Adams, Sri Masthan Swami, Sri Swami Ramdas and countless others approached Ramana after having invested their best efforts in their search, research and practice, only to find themselves in a dead end. The beauty of such encounters is the flash of immediacy, the seeker gaining renewed confidence from the final course correction. Although I am a native of Tamil country, raised within few hundred miles of Thiruvannamalai, India and despite having visited Sri Ramanasramam in 1992, it was from a Youtube video in 2009 that I "discovered" Ramana! History repeats as far as the immediacy factor mentioned earlier. Am I fortunate or what!

Current of Inquiry:

Turning the mind inwards and holding the personal "I" thought, is grace in action, if done as Ramana prescribes. A new kind of hitherto unrecognized energy takes hold. Its like riding a tidal wave, during times outside of meditation.

Sphurana:

​

It seems like a Yoga Maya, a veiling power, that even after 125 years since Ramana revealed the role of Sphurana in Self Inquiry, nobody has come forward to define the concept in their own words. To define a concept from experience one needs no words and terminology from spiritual traditions. You may have noticed that in this site there are few, if any, such words.  So with sphurana. Description rarely captures experience as such, though in going to description from experience, one is enabled to use simple words that match substance to theory.

.........sphurana is like.....the Holy Ganges, caressing the unshapely rock that is EGO, relentlessly, joyfully....and eventually manifesting a sivalingam out of it.....

Eye brows Lock:

​

The condensed and localized sphurana in the eye brows lock enables the seeker to continue Inquiry in mind space, all things gross including physical body having disappeared. The volition less shift of locus to the center of eyebrows indicates the end of efforts. The essential and significant role of eye brows lock is demonstrated in the spiritual life of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa in his encounter with Totapuri. The wandering mystic Totapuri pressed a large grain of salt between Sri Ramakrishna's eye brows to lead the latter into the non dual state.
